Yuck! We've all been getting spoiled by the beautiful weather and now it's nonstop rain for a week. Check out the links below for the how-to on each creation.
Express yourself with these super cute custom button favors on Etsy. I love the "Team Bride" and "Team Groom" buttons! And at $15 for 25, they're affordable, too!
Check out these sweet favors for a twist on the popular cookies or cupcakes. Yum!
In continuing the Saturday tradition of featuring fun finds from Etsy, I bring you these Cootie Catchers. How cute are these? They're the perfect fun favor or place card for your guests. They can be customized with guests' names, your wedding date, and questions of your choice. Set them open to hold candy as an added favor for your guests. Seller Kats Krafts has loads of different color, size, and font options. Love, love, love!
How cute is this idea? Visit Our Best Bites for step-by-step instructions on how to create your own Pie in a Jar. This is a great idea for a cake substitute or wedding favors. Love it!
Here are some great, creative ideas for displaying your favors, taken from Martha Stewart Weddings:
A hot trend in wedding favors that gives us warm fuzzies: Instead of giving guests a small trinket they will probably never use, brides and grooms are donating a larger sum of money to a charity of their choice in their guests' honor. We love this idea because you can do something at your wedding that can make a difference throughout the world.
Here are a couple of worthy organizations NWD supports (they're run locally out of Nebraska, but their influence is worldwide): One Cause Lincoln, which is working to build orphanages in Haiti, one of the most poverty-stricken areas in the world. Visit their website to learn more about donating: OneCauseLincoln.org.
Tiny Hands International is another great cause based out of Lincoln, Nebraska - they're working to intercept Nepali women and children at the border between Nepal and India that were unknowingly going to be sold into sexual slavery. They then return the girls to their home or provide shelter for these victims to help them get back on their feet if returning home is not an option.
Another great option with Tiny Hands? The women that stay in their shelter are learning to work and earn wages by making beautiful pashmina scarves, bags, and jewelry...the perfect gifts for your bridesmaids! Visit their website for more information on donating or purchasing the products these women make: TinyHandsInternational.org.
Create a classy (and tasty!) favor for your guests by making "cookie cubes" with your monogram on all sides. Stack cookies in the box, tie it up with an elegant ribbon, and let your guests enjoy!
If you want to make your wedding truly unique, why not try something a little different with the favors? Set up a station for "favor-making" and let your guests go wild. After all, most personalized picture frames end up as dust collectors, so getting your guests involved could end up being a huge hit.
Some cute ideas:
*Ice cream sundaes or banana splits. Make sure you have all kinds of candy and other toppings on hand and let your guests' inner junk food junkie escape.
*Cookie decorating. Let your guests use their imagination and decorate their own sugar cookie. Just make sure you provide plenty of frosting!
*Caramel apples. This idea is particularly fun for an outdoor summer wedding. Who doesn't love caramel apples in the summertime?
*Christmas ornaments. Have an assortment of crafty decorations and give each guest an ornament to decorate themselves. They'll remember your wedding every time they decorate their Christmas tree. Obviously, this is an idea that works best for a winter wedding.
